✨ Public Footpath Declarations
Colonial Secretary’s Office,
Auckland, Oct. 15th, 1849.
HIS Excellency the Governor-in-Chief directs it to be notified that from and after this date, the undermentioned Footpaths shall be deemed and taken to be Public
Footpaths, within the meaning of Ordinance 12, Session No. 8.

| Name of Locality. | Position and Limits. |

| No. 1.—Wyndham Street | From the junction of Hobson and Wyndham Streets along the southern side of the last mentioned street to its junction with Queen Street. |
2.—Queen Street | From the “Marlborough’s Arms,” being the south-west angle of Lot 41, of Section 4, of the Town of Auckland, along the eastern side of Queen Street to its junction with Shortland Street, along the Southern Side of Shortland Street to High Street.
3.—Princes Street | Western side of Princes Street from Emily Place to Victoria Quadrant.
4.—Princes Street | Eastern side of Princes Street from Emily Place to Waterloo Quadrant.
5.—Victoria Quadrant | From the General’s Guard House, along the southern side of Victoria Quadrant to a point opposite the north-east fence of the lot on which the Wesleyan Chapel and School stand.
6.—Waterloo Quadrant | From Princes Street along the northern side of Waterloo Quadrant to the bottom of the steps on the west side of Mechanics’ Bay.
7.—Waterloo Quadrant, and Symonds Street | On the southern side of Waterloo Quadrant from the Guard House of the old Government House to Symonds Street, along the western side of that street to the Barrack wall.
8.—Rutland Road | From Windsor Terrace, Epsom Road, to St. George’s Bay, on the south side of Rutland Road, 7 chains, 60 links; thence on the north side thereof, 8 chains, 10 links, and thence to St. George’s Bay, 2 chains and 30 links.
9.—Epsom Road | On the east side of Road from the Bridge, Mechanics’ Bay, to Road leading to Cooper’s Bay, from thence on the west side to Hobson’s Bridge. From Hobson’s Bridge on the west side to opposite the road to Papakura.
