โœจ Miscellaneous Notices

158

I have delayed, for a short time, replying to your
letter of the 9th of last month, recommending
that I would take measures for giving a greater
number of towns to the Counties of Waimea and
Valleys. I regret, however, to have to state that I have not
yet been able to devise any plan which would appear
to remove the difficulties in relation to the subdivision
of the districts in question, other than those which the
Council has already had under their consideration.

I shall, however, take the subject into my serious
reflection when any number of the Colonial Ministry are
at Nelson, and meanwhile will endeavour to obtain for
the Council all the information the subject admits of.

G. Grey

Council adjourned sine die.

1st October, 1847.

J. Coates,
Clerk of Council.
