His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint the following gentlemen to be Members of the Waste Lands Board for the Province of New Ulster:

Tenders will be received at this Office, until noon of Thursday the 22nd instant, from persons willing to supply the Commissariat Department, at Auckland, with...
Fresh Meat for the Troops, for six months, from the 1st March to the 31st August next.
Further particulars may be obtained at the Office of the Deputy Commissary General.
The lowest or any Tender will not necessarily be accepted.

NOTICE TO INTENDING EMIGRANTS.
The Government Emigration Barque "Sir Edward Paget" will sail from London, for Auckland, on the 10th March next, and the following scale of rations for adults will be issued weekly during the voyage:
- Bread or Biscuit... 3 1/2 lbs.
- Flour... 1 1/2 lbs.
- Beef... 1 1/4 lbs.
- Pork... 1 lb.
- Peas... 1/2 pint
- Rice... 1/2 lb.
- Sugar... 1/2 lb.
- Tea... 1/6 oz.
- Vinegar... 1/2 gill
- Water... 3 quarts daily
Children under 14 years of age will receive a proportionate allowance.
Any further information may be obtained from the Chief Emigration Officer, or from the Agents General for the Colonies, Messrs. Carter and Bonus, 3, Adam Street, Adelphi, London.

NOTICE OF FILING DEFENCE.
IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND.

Take notice that the Defendants have filed their Defence in this cause, and the same may be inspected at the office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Wellington.

ADMIRALTY NOTICES.
NOTICE TO MARINERS.
The following alterations have been made in the Harbour Lights at Wellington:
The Light on Somes Island is now exhibited as a fixed bright light, visible through an arc of 240 degrees, from seaward, from S. 60 E. to W. by S.
The Light on Pencarrow Head is now a revolving bright light, showing a flash every minute, visible through an arc of 210 degrees, from seaward, from S. 45 E. to W. by N.

NOTICE.
Masters of vessels are hereby warned not to attempt to cross the Manukau Bar, except at or near the time of high water, and then only when the sea is smooth.
A vessel drawing more than 12 feet of water cannot cross the Bar, except at Spring Tides.
