HIS Excellency the Governor-in-chief has been pleased to direct that the names of the following Gentlemen be inserted in the Commission of the Peace for the Province of New Ulster:—

of the Royal New Zealand Fencibles, and
John TYLSON WICKSTEED,
Francis DILLON BELL, and
James WEBBSTER, Esquires,
of New Plymouth.

IRON SAFES.

TENDERS will be received at this office until noon on Friday, the 24th Instant, for the supply of
Two IRON SAFES,
with Patent Locks and Duplicate Keys, for the service of this Government.
Tenders to be in duplicate, sealed and endorsed—“Tender for Safes.”

TENDERS will be received at this office until noon on Tuesday the 28th Instant for the supply of
Four Horses, Two Drays, and Three Carts,
with the requisite Harness, complete.
The above articles may be included in one Tender, or separate Tenders will be received for each, as may be most convenient to parties te derig.
The Tenders to be in duplicate, sealed and endorsed—“Tender for Horses and Drays”—(or as the case may be).

NOTICE is hereby given, that at Eleven o’clock, a.m., on Saturday, the eighteenth March next, the Superintendent of Public Works will cause to be disposed of by Public Auction, at Messrs. Connell & Ridings Stock Yard, in Queen-street,
One Large Grey Draught Horse.

TENDERS FOR HAY.

Auckland, March 11th, 1848.
THE Tenders for supplying Hay, submitted in pursuance of the Gazette notice of 7th instant, having been found so high, that it has been deemed unadvisable to accept any of them,
Fresh Tenders in duplicate, will be received at this office, until noon on Monday, the 27th March next, from parties willing to supply Hay in such quantities as may be required by the Government during six months.
The Tenders to state the price per ton at which the Hay will be delivered at the Government stables in Mechanic’s Bay, or at Howick, as may be required.
Any further information required on the subject may be obtained at the office of the Superintendent of Public Works.
