TENDERS—QUEEN STREET.

TENDERS will be received at this Office,
until noon on Monday, the 11th December,
from parties desirous of undertaking the Earthwork in the repair and construction of the Roadway in Queen-street, from the Court-house to High water mark.
Tenders will be also received, at the same time and place, from parties desirous of laying down certain Drains in the same street.
Plans and sections, with specifications of the several works to be performed, may be seen on application to the Superintendent of Roads, at the Survey Office, from whom any information on the subject may be obtained.
As security for the due performance of these works, within the period stated in the specification, is an indispensable condition, each tender must be accompanied by a notification of the consent of the parties proposed as sureties.
Tenders to be in duplicate, sealed, and endorsed, “Tenders for Earthwork in the repair and construction of Queen-street,” or “Tenders for certain drains in Queen-street.”

TENDERS—PRINCES’ STREET.

TENDERS will be received at this office
until noon on Wednesday, the 13th day of December, for supplying and fixing a Wooden Curb to the footpaths in Princes’ Street.
Specifications of the work required may be seen, on application to the Superintendent of Roads, at the Survey Office, from whom any information on the subject may be obtained.
As security for the due performance of the work will be required, the name of the proposed surety to be stated in each tender.
Tenders to be in duplicate, sealed and endorsed—“Tenders for supplying and fixing Curb in Princes’ Street.”

GROWTH AND REELING OF SILK.
THE adjourned meeting of the parties favorable to the formation of an Institution for promoting the Growth and Reeling of Silk in the Colony, took place on the 12th July, 1848, at Lyons’s Rooms.

The Secretary to the Committee appointed at the former meeting, (Mr. A. Campbell) read the Report of the Committee on the subject, as follows :-
“The Committee appointed on the 4th July, to inquire into the practicability of Mr. Beuzeville’s propositions, and the most feasible method of effecting them, with the view of promoting the culture and preparation in the colony of the Raw Silk of Commerce, now report on the matters referred to them.
The first question affecting the practicability of Mr. Beuzeville’s plans appeared to be whether there can be obtained, in a reasonable time, and contemporaneously with the outlay contemplated, a sufficient supply of the food, pe-
