PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency Major-General GEORGE DEAN PITT, Knight of the Royal Hanoverian Guelphic Order, Lieutenant-Governor of the Province of New Ulster, &c. &c. &c.
WHEREAS His Excellency GEORGE GREY, Esquire, Governor-in-Chief in and over the Islands of New Zealand hath this day quitted the Province of New Ulster:
Now therefore I, GEORGE DEAN PITT, do hereby proclaim and declare that I have assumed the administration of the Government of the said Province during the absence therefrom of the Governor-in-Chief, and I hereby call upon the inhabitants of the said Province to be aiding and assisting me therein.
Given under my hand and issued under (L. S.) the Public Seal of the Province of New Ulster, at Auckland, this second day of August, in the Year of Our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and forty eight.

PROCLAMATION.
By His Excellency GEORGE GREY, Esquire, Governor-in-Chief in and over the Islands of New Zealand, and Governor of the Provinces of New Ulster and New Munster, and Vice-Admiral of the same, &c., &c.
I, THE GOVERNOR of the Province of New Ulster, do hereby proclaim that at eleven o’clock on Saturday, the Sixteenth day of September, one thousand eight hundred and forty-eight, the Colonial Treasurer will put up to Auction, at the Treasury, in Auckland, the undermentioned allotments of land, hereby declared to be within the limits of settlement.
Immediate payment in cash to be an indispensable condition of sale.
