Land Claims and Government Appointments

Auckland, 12th June, 1848.

THE Commissioner of Land Claims having reported that the undermentioned persons who applied to have the Crown’s right of pre-emption waived in their favor, under the provisions of the Proclamation of the 10th October, 1844, have failed to comply with the requirements of the Government Notice of 15th June, 1846,

His Excellency the Governor-in-Chief has directed it to be notified for the information of parties concerned, that the undermentioned claims have been disallowed.

THE Pre-emption claims included in the following schedule having been submitted to the Honorable the Attorney-General, in accordance with the directions contained in Earl Grey’s Despatch No. 41, dated 10th February, 1847, and that officer having reported that he is unable to certify that the purchases in these cases have been made “in strict pursuance of and under the authority of the Proclamation,” of 10th October, 1844, His Excellency the Governor-in-Chief has directed it to be notified for the information of parties concerned, that the claims in question have been disallowed.
