HIS EXCELLENCY the Governor

has been pleased to appoint

Charles Henry Kettle, Esquire,
to be the Government Surveyor at Otago.

The appointment to take effect from
the 19th Instant.

Wellington, 23rd February, 1862.

TENDERS will be received at this
Office until the 16th March next,
from persons desirous of contracting for
the execution of certain improvements
about to be undertaken in connection with
Lambton Quay, by reclaiming a portion
of land from the Harbour, and for repairs
to the present Beach Road.

Specifications may be seen on applica-
tion to Mr. Roberts, at the Royal Engi-
neers’ Office, from whom any further
information relating to the proposed
works may be obtained, on and after
Thursday, the 4th March next.

Tenders to be in Duplicate, Sealed, and
Endorsed: “Tender for improvements
of Lambton Quay.”

Wellington, March 3rd, 1862.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a
Special Meeting of the Justices
of the Peace for this District will be held
at this Court, on Friday the 13th day of
March next at 12 O’Clock, for the pur-
pose of forming a Militia List for the
District of Port Nicholson, for the year
1862-63.
