ROADS.

SEALED Tenders in Duplicate will be received at this Office on or before the 16th September next, from persons willing to contract for the repair of portions of the North Western Road for a period of Twelve Months from the 1st of October, 1852.

No tender will be accepted from one person for more than one of the portions described below, although he may tender for both.

The specifications may be seen at the Road Office, on and after the 24th instant.

1st portion,—from Kaiwarra Bridge to Brown’s Inn at Porirua.

2nd portion,—from Brown’s Inn at Porirua to the Beach at Paikakariki.

NOTICE.

Colonial Secretary’s Office,
Wellington, 20th August, 1852.

WHEREAS, by a Proclamation bearing date the third day of June, 1852, the Governor-in-Chief of the New Zealand Islands did under certain powers therein recited, appoint “some convenient place or places in the Town of Christchurch, to be specified by the Returning Officer,” to be Polling Places for the “Town of Christchurch,” and the “Christchurch Country District,” at Canterbury.

And whereas, it is necessary that an additional Polling Place be appointed for the last named District :

Now therefore, His Excellency the Governor of New Munster hereby directs and appoints that the undermentioned place within the district of Canterbury, shall be deemed and taken to be an additional Polling Place for the “Christchurch Country District,” to all intents and purposes, as if the same had been appointed by the aforesaid Proclamation.

In Lyttelton, at some convenient place to be specified by the Returning Officer of the District.
