PROCLAMATION.

By His Excellency Sir George Grey, a Knight Commander of the most Honourable Order of the Bath; Governor and Commander-in-Chief in and over the Islands of New Zealand, and Governor of the Provinces of New Ulster and New Munster, and Vice-Admiral of the same, &c., &c., &c.

WHEREAS it is expedient that so much of the District of Nelson, as is included within the boundaries hereinafter particularly set forth, should be divided into Hundreds: Now therefore, I, the said Governor and Commander-in-Chief, do hereby proclaim and declare that the same be divided into six several Hundreds, to be called respectively the Hundred of “Waikakapu,”—the Hundred of “Nelson,”—the Hundred of “Waimea East,”—the Hundred of “Wai-iti,”—the Hundred of “Waimea West,”—and the Hundred of “Motueka,”—and the boundaries whereof respectively are hereinafter described and particularly set forth in a map or plan deposited in the office of the Commissioner of Crown Lands at Nelson.

Description of the Boundaries of the Hundred of Waikakapuka.

The Northern Boundary commences at high-water mark at the northern boundary peg of section No. 36 suburban north, and proceeds thence vliotting the native boundary line to boundaries of sections Nos. 38 and 39 Happy Valley, and thence in the same direction to the summit of the Moku-tapu range. The Eastern Boundary proceeds along the summit of the Moku-tapu range to the junction of the range of hills on the northern bank of the Maitai. The Southern Boundary proceeds thence down the summit of the hills on the northern bank of the Maitai to the dividing line between the sections Nos. 1 and 4 suburban North District, and the Western Boundary proceeds thence along high-water
