NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that His Excellency the Lieutenant-Governor has been pleased to approve of Pyne Vacherona (hereinafter known as Port Cooper) in the Province of New Munster, in the Islands of New Zealand, as a Port of Entry.

BY EMERGENCY THE LIEUTENANT-GOVERNOR has been pleased to appoint, provisionally, Henry Godfrey Gouland, Esquire, to be Collector of Customs, Sub-Treasurer, and Deputy Postmaster for the District of Port Victoria.

The appointments to bear date the 9th instant.

NOTICE.

Masters of Boats and Lighters employed in the Landing and Shipping of Goods in this Harbour, are requested to take notice that the hours appointed for this purpose are from 9 in the morning till 4 in the afternoon, limited; in the case of Bonded Goods, to 1 past 2 o'clock, unless under special circumstances, and with the express permission of the Collector of Customs.

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that a Sitting of our Supreme Court for the dispatch of Criminal business will be held at the New Court House, Wellington, on Saturday, the 1st day of September next, at 10 o'clock in the forenoon, and that all such criminal business will be taken in the order of precedence.

IMPOUNDED at the Public Pound, Wellington, a light grey mare, white face, one black and white hind foot, white spot on her off side, one white foot, branded like a P on the near shoulder, a brown horse, two white feet, star in forehead, branded on the near shoulder with a W, one black gelding, branded near shoulder, also a black mare with a star in forehead.

To be sold on Thursday, the 30th of August instant, at the Pound, at noon.
