NOTICE.
Colonial Secretary’s Office.
Wellington, 12th February, 1848.

HIS EXCELLENCY THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR directs it to be notified that, for the future, all communications which are not of a strictly private character, must be made through the Colonial Secretary; and that no official communication whatever will be received by the Private Secretary.

NOTICE.
Colonial Secretary’s Office.
Wellington, 14th February, 1848.

THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR directs it to be notified for the information of the Public, that no Court of Requests will be held for the Southern District or Division of New Zealand, from and after the 18th instant, and that the Office of the said Court will close upon that day; and, further, that from and after the said 18th instant, all claims and demands of a Civil nature, where the debt or damage claimed shall not exceed £20, may be heard and determined by the Resident Magistrate, or any two or more Justices of the Peace, pursuant to the provisions of the Resident Magistrates’ Court Ordinance, Session 7, No. 16.

THE LIEUTENANT GOVERNOR has been pleased to direct it to be notified that His Excellency the Governor-in-Chief has been pleased to appoint—

ALFRED DOMETT, Esq.,

to be Colonial Secretary for the Province of New Munster, subject to Her Majesty’s approval.

This appointment to take effect from the 2nd instant.
