General character and description of the Work performed during the Quarter. Draining, Metalling, Building log and sawn timber Bridges; Excavating, Sawing, Implement making and repairing; Embanking, Side-cutting, and Levelling.
Character, size, extent, &c., of any particular portions of the Work which have been completed during the Quarter. Road completed 1¼ miles; made except metalling 13 chains 28 links; side drains 76 chains 70 links; metalled road previously made 26 chains 75 links; Bridges sawn timber, one 96 feet long, width 15 feet 4 inches; cost for labour £50:8:3; contingencies £9:10:0; total £59:18:3. One 100 feet 2 inches long, width 14 feet 9 inches; cost for labour £112:17:4½; contingencies £6:16:6; total £119:13:10½. Bridges constructed of logs 5; cross drains 5; causeway 9 chains long, width base 20 feet, top 10 feet, constructed of stone; Punt (for conveying Lieut. Turner's military party), across Porirua Harbour) length 26 feet, width 10 feet 4 inches, depth 2 feet 6 inches; cost for labour £4:16:3; contingencies £1:19:10: total £6:16:1.
