We beg to express our extreme satisfaction at having within this Settlement ready access to one who is able to assist in encountering the difficulties which still retard its progress, and our sincere desire that by the successful development of its resources, and the removal of existing impediments, your Excellency may obtain that satisfaction which will compensate for the anxieties and labours necessarily attendant upon your eminent position.
