Superintendent's Office,
Nelson, November 29, 1875.

THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that
it is intended, after the expiration of two
months from the date hereof, to grant Leases for
Gold-mining purposes of the Crown lands within the
district of the Nelson and South-west Goldfields
hereinafter described, viz.:—

INANGAHUA DISTRICT.

  1. A block of land containing sixteen acres and
    fifteen perches, more or less, situated
    north of Murray Creek. Applied for by
    Louis Davies for the Victory Quartz-mining
    Company, Limited, No. 760.

  2. A block of land containing fifteen acres and
    two roods, more or less, situated at Murray
    Creek. Applied for by Timothy M'Lough-
    lin for the North Clunes Company, No.

  3. A block of land containing six acres one
    rood and twenty-nine perches, more or less,
    situated on Kelly's line, Murray Creek.
    Applied for by Wm. M'Lean for the Herald
    Gold-mining Company Limited, No. 758.

  4. A block of land containing sixteen acres one
    rood and twenty-four perches, more or less,
    situated at Murray Creek. Applied for by
    A. D. Bayfield for the Stawell Gold-min-
    ing Company, No. 756.

  5. A block of land containing four acres and
    two roods, more or less, situated at Boat-
    man's Creek. Applied for by George Wise
    for the Just-in-Time Company, No. 752.

  6. A block of land containing fourteen acres
    two roods and thirty-eight perches, more or
    less, situated at Murray Creek. Applied
    for by Louis Davies for the Keep-it-Dark
    Company, No. 753.

  7. A block of land containing sixteen acres and
    two roods, more or less, situated at Murray
    Creek. Applied for by Arthur D. Bayfield
    for the Murray Creek Company, No. 759.

  8. A block of land containing sixteen acres and
    two roods, more or less, situated at Murray
    Creek. Applied for by Robert E. Guilline,
    for the Undaunted Company, No. 755.

  9. A block of land containing eight acres one
    rood and seventeen perches, more or less,
    situated at the head of Murray Creek.
    Applied for by A. D. Bayfield for the
    Cement Gold-mining Company, No. 754.

  10. A block of land containing three acres one
    rood and seven perches, more or less,
    situated at Murray Creek (south side).
    Applied for by Alexander Ross for the
    Energetic Quartz-mining Company Regis-
    tered, No. 749.

Superintendent's Office,
Nelson, December 6, 1875.

THE Superintendent directs it to be notified that,
in accordance with the provisions of "The
Education Act, 1863" he has appointed Monday,
the 13th day of December instant, at twelve o'clock,
noon, for the election of a Local Committee of
Education for the district of Aorere, and that the
election will be held at the School house, Aorere.

Superintendent's Office,
Nelson, December 2, 1875.

THE following regulations, applying to persons in
occupation of Accommodation Reserves, are
published, by direction of the Superintendent, for
general information:—

  1. Every occupier of an Accommodation Reserve
    shall provide suitable accommodation and
    good food for travellers, and shall also
    supply horse feed of fair quality, by weight,
    at a reasonable price per pound.

  2. Every occupier of any such reserve shall
    keep a book at his accommodation-house,
    which shall be placed at the disposal of
    travellers who may desire to enter therein
    any complaints or remarks with reference
    to the food or lodging with which they have
    been provided at such accommodation-
    house.

  3. Such book shall be kept unmutilated and in
    good order and preservation, and shall be
    subject to periodical inspection by a member
    of the police force, or some other duly
    authorised person.

  4. These Regulations shall come into operation
    on the 1st day of January, 1876, and shall
    remain in force until revoked or amended.

Crown Lands Office,
Nelson, November 30, 1875.

NOTICE is hereby given that the undermentioned
Crown Lands have, in accordance with the
provisions of "The Nelson Waste Lands Act, 1874,"
been reserved for public purposes:—

FOR PURPOSES OF A FERRY.

All that parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment eighteen acres, more or less, situated
in the district of Aorere, being Section
numbered 120 on the plan of the said
district. Bounded on the north-westward
(1200 links) by Sections numbered 96 and
99 on the said plan; on the eastward by
the public road, on the banks of the River
Aorere; and on the south-westward (2600
links) by Section numbered 91 on the said
plan.

FOR PURPOSES OF PUBLIC UTILITY.

All that parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment twenty-three acres one rood and
twenty perches, situated at Nelson Creek,
in the district of the Grey. Bounded on
the northward (1850 links and 300 links)
by a public road; eastward (2450 links) by
Drennan's agricultural lease; southward
(1030 links) by the public road, on the
banks of Nelson Creek; and westward
(500 links and 1325 links) by the continua-
tion of the same public road.
