THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that it is intended, after the expiration of two months from the date hereof, to grant Leases for Gold-mining purposes of the Crown Lands within the district of the Nelson South-west Goldfields, hereinafter described, viz.:—

BULLER DISTRICT.

  1. A block of land containing nine acres three roods and twenty-four perches, more or less, situated on Rochefort Terrace. Applied for by JOHN EDMUNDS PRICE, No. 200, B.

  2. A block of land containing nine acres three roods and thirty-six perches, more or less, situated at Hatter's Terrace. Applied for by JOHN MEES and others, No. 199, B.

WILLIAM D'ALTON is hereby authorised, under Section 13 of "The Goldfields Act, 1866," to construct a Pack Track, commencing at the extreme end of Broadway, in the town of Reefton, and terminating on his mineral lease (No. 191), and protected in the occupation thereof for a period of five (5) years from the 10th July, 1875, upon the following conditions, viz.:—

  1. That the Track shall at all times be maintained in a good state of repair, and no tolls shall be recoverable unless the Warden of the district be satisfied that this condition has been fully complied with.

  2. That this protection does not interfere with any existing rights or privileges, nor prejudice the right of the Government to make or grant protection to any other track, but no protection will be granted for any other track within one chain of this one.

  3. That all Government officers, road overseers and laborers and postmen shall use the track when on duty free of charge.

  4. That this protection shall not be transferred without the sanction of the District Warden.

  5. That the Track shall, if required, be given up to the Government at any time at a valuation.

  6. That the several owners or occupiers of lands intersected by the Track be allowed free transit over or along that portion thereof contained within the boundaries of the lands held or occupied by each of them respectively.

  7. That the tolls to be charged for using the Track shall not exceed the following:—
