PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor JOHN WALLIS BARNICOAT, Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand, &c., &c.

WHEREAS, by an Act passed by the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Protection of Animals Act, 1873," it is, amongst other things, enacted that the Superintendent of any Province may, by Proclamation published in the Gazette, from time to time proclaim that any animal or bird, in addition to those mentioned in the several Schedules to the said Act, shall come within the operation of the said Act.

Now, therefore, I, the Deputy-Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, pursuant to and in exercise of the power and authority vested in me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim that all birds of the following kinds shall come within the operation of the said Act within the said Province, that is to say,

Blackbirds,
Thrushes,
Larks,
Starlings,
Rooks,
Jackdaws,
Linnets,
Chaffinches,
Goldfinches,
Greenfinches,
Bullfinches,
Redpoles,
Sparrows,
Australian sparrows,
Yellow hammers,
Robins.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Nelson, this sixth day of August, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.
