I hereby certify that I have examined the above accounts of Receipts and Disbursements by the Takaka Road Board for the Year ended 15th June, 1875, and find the same to be correct; and that the sum of £118 17s. 10d. has been borrowed from the Payment to Provinces Account, and £65 15s. 5d. from the Bank of New Zealand.

The Nelson Provincial Council Buildings (depicted) were constructed beginning with the laying of the foundation stone on 26 August 1859, with the first Council meeting held there on 30 April 1861.

The buildings served Nelson for over a century before being demolished on 12 September 1969.
