PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor OSWALD CURTIS, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand, &c., &c.

WHEREAS by an Act passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Nelson, intituled \"The Nelson Highways Act, 1872,\" it is amongst other things enacted that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent from time to time to constitute and appoint certain Districts in which the said Act shall come into operation, and the limits of such Districts, from time to time to alter as occasion may require, and also if he shall see fit to revoke the Proclamation by which such Districts shall have been constituted: And whereas, by a certain Proclamation bearing date the sixth day of November 1873, issued under my hand, as Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, a certain District was constituted under the said Act, called \"The Hampden District\": And whereas it is expedient to alter the limits of the said District as described in the said Proclamation.

Now, therefore, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, pursuant to and in exercise of the power and authority vested in me in that behalf by the said recited Act, do hereby revoke such portion of the said Proclamation as describes the boundaries and limits of the said District, and do hereby proclaim and declare that the boundaries and limits of the Hampden District aforesaid shall be as follows for the purposes of the said Act, that is to say :β€”

Commencing at the saddle between the Rivers Wangapeka and Karamea; thence to the Lyell Range; thence along the Lyell Range and down a spur to a stream on the north bank of the River Buller, near traverse station 1000, on the North Buller Road traverse, being 4\u00bd miles eastward by the old track from the junction of the Rivers Lyell and Buller; thence by a line true south across the River Buller to the top of the Brunner Range; thence following the Brunner and Victoria Ranges to Mount Haast; thence in a straight line to Lake Christabel; thence in a straight line to Mount Princess; thence in a straight line to the source of the River Motupiko; thence by the range between the Rivers Motupiko and Buller to the junction of the Hope Valley road and North Buller road at the confluence of the River Hope; thence in a straight line to the saddle between the Rivers Wangapeka and Karamea, from whence this description started.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province, at Nelson, this second day of July, in the year of our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.
