LICENSES to Shoot Pheasants and Quail will be issued at this office on and after Monday, the 10th instant, on payment of a fee of one pound.

PROCLAMATION.

By His Honor OSWALD CURTIS, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Colony of New Zealand, &c., &c.

WHEREAS by "The Protection of Animals Act, 1873," it is provided that no game shall be hunted, shot, taken, or killed in any Province, until the same shall have been proclaimed as open for that purpose: Now, therefore, I, OSWALD CURTIS, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in exercise of the power and authority in me vested in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that PHEASANTS and QUAIL may be shot from the 17th day of May till the 30th day of June next, both days inclusive, by persons DULY LICENSED under the above recited Act, in that part of the Province of Nelson, included within the undermentioned boundaries, viz.:β€”

Commencing at Reef Harbor, Torrent Bay; thence in a straight line to the summit of Mount Campbell; thence by the boundary of the South-west Goldfields to the junction of the rivers Hope and Buller; thence in a straight line to the Tophouse; thence by the boundaries between the Provinces of Nelson and Marlborough to the sea; thence by the sea coast to Reef Harbor.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province, at Nelson, this third day of May, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and seventy-five.
