PROCLAMATION.

By his Honor OSWALD CURTIS, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Colony of New Zealand, &c. &c.

WHEREAS by an Act passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Nelson, in Session XXIII. No. 5, intituled "The Goldfields Local Revenues Act, 1873," certain districts were constituted for the purposes of the Act, that is to say, the Cobden, Charleston, Buller, Inangahua, and Ahaura, districts, and the boundaries of which districts are specified in Schedule A. to the said Act. And whereas by an Act passed by the said Superintendent and Provincial Council, in Session XXIV., No. 2, intituled "The Goldfields Local Revenues Act Amendment Act, 1874," it is provided that it shall be lawful for the Superintendent with the advice and consent of his Executive Council, from time to time, by proclamation in the Government Gazette, to divide any of the districts constituted by the first recited Act into two or more new districts, and to fix and define the boundaries of all such new districts: Now therefore I, Oswald Curtis, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, with the advice and consent of my Executive Council, hereby proclaim and declare that the said district of Inangahua is hereby divided into two new districts for the purposes of the said Acts, and that the division boundary of such new districts shall be as follows, viz: Commencing at the summit of the Brunner Range and running in a straight line to the junction of the rivers Buller and Inangahua; thence down the Buller river to the Eastern boundary of the Buller district.

And I do hereby further proclaim and declare, with the like advice and consent, that the district southward of the said division line, shall be called the Inangahua District, and the district northward of the said line shall be called the Lyell District, for the purposes of the said Acts.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Nelson, this Eighteenth day of February, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and seventy-four.
