PROCLAMATION.
By his Honor OSWALD CURTIS, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand, &c. &c.
WHEREAS, by an Ordinance passed by the Legislative Council of New Munster, in Session I., No. 9, intituled "An Ordinance to increase the Efficiency of the Constabulary Force," it is, amongst other things, enacted, that the provisions of that Ordinance may be proclaimed in force within the limits of any town, upon a requisition to that effect from a majority of the Magistrates of the district in which such town is situate: And whereas a majority of the Magistrates of the district in which the town of MOTUEKA is situate have requested that the provisions of clause 21 of the said recited Ordinance should be enforced within certain limits of the said town:--
Now therefore I, the Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, with the advice and consent of the Executive Council thereof, pursuant to the power and authority, vested in me in that behalf by the said recited Act, and by an Ordinance passed by the Provincial Council of Nelson, in Session I., No. 2, intituled "An Ordinance to vest in the Superintendent of the Province of Nelson certain powers heretofore vested in the Governor and Lieutenant-Governor of the Province of New Munster," do hereby proclaim and declare that the aforesaid Ordinance passed by the Legislative Council of New Munster, in Session I., No. 9, shall, from and after the publication hereof, be in force over an area comprised within the following boundaries:--
Commencing at the sea beach on the prolongation of the southern boundary line of the road lying between Sections 147 and 143, Squares 3 and 9; thence along that boundary line (being the northern boundary line of Section 147), and a prolongation of it to the western boundary line of the main road lying between Sections 148 and 165; thence along that western boundary line and a prolongation of it to the northern boundary line of the road between Sections 157 and 134; thence along that boundary line and a prolongation of it to the sea beach; thence along the sea beach or high-water mark to the point first mentioned.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Nelson, this Twenty-fourth day of October, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and seventy.
