PROCLAMATION.

By his Honor OSWALD CURTIS, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand, &c. &c. &c.

I, OSWALD CURTIS, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in exercise of the power and authority in me vested in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the Building now used as a Lock-up, situated at Napoleon's Hill, Grey District, in the said Province, shall be deemed and taken to be a Public Gaol of the Colony of New Zealand.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Nelson, this Twenty-seventh day of September, in the year of our Lord, One thousand eight hundred and seventy.

19th September, 1870.

THE Superintendent directs it to be notified, that in accordance with the provisions of Section 9, of the "Education Act, 1863," he has appointed SATURDAY, the First day of October next, at twelve o'clock, noon for the ELECTION of TWO PERSONS to fill the vacancies in the Local Committee of Education for the district of Cobden; and that the Election shall be held at the Schoolhouse, Cobden.
