Nelson, November 10, 1869.
THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that, in accordance with the Provisions of Section 9 of "The Education Act, 1863," he has appointed SATURDAY, the 20th day of November instant, at Twelve o'clock noon, for the ELECTION of Two PERSONS to fill the Vacancies in the LOCAL COMMITTEE of EDUCATION for the District of MOTUPIPI, and that the Election shall be held at the School-house Motupipi.

I, THE Undersigned, JAMES WYLDE, hereby make application to register "The Mawhera Quartz Mining Company (Registered)," under the Provisions of "The Mining Companies Limited Liability Act, 1865," and I solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is, to the best of my belief and knowledge, true in every particular, namely:—
- The name and style of the Company is "The Mawhera Quartz Mining Company (Registered)."
- The place of intended operations is at the Moonlight Creek, in the Nelson South-west Goldfields.
- The nominal capital of the Company is Two Thousand One Hundred Pounds, in Four Hundred and Twenty Shares of Five Pounds each.
- The amount already paid up is Seventy Pounds.
- The name of the Manager is James Wylde.
- The Office of the Company is in Mawhera Quay, Greymouth.
- The names and several Residences of the Shareholders, and the number of Shares held by each at this date are as follows:—
