RULES FOR INTERMENT IN THE RIWAKA CEMETERY.
- That no Allotment shall be less than 7 feet in depth, and the exclusive Right of Burial shall be purchasable at the rate of One Shilling per Square Yard, if the Allotment is in the centre; and at One Shilling and Sixpence per Square Yard if the Allotment is selected along any of the sides.
- That Parties having already selected Allotments and paid for them, will receive receipts for the same on producing satisfactory evidence to the Trustees, provided that such claim shall be established on or before the 31st day of December, 1869.
- That Parties having purchased allotments shall be subject to an annual rate of Two Shillings and Sixpence, such sum to be applied for the purpose of keeping the Cemetery in order.
- That in the case of any Person having purchased an Allotment and having left the district, the said Allotment shall lapse to the Trustees if it remain unclaimed for five years and the rate remain unpaid.
- That the Fee for any Interment shall be Ten Shillings.
- That in the case of any one not having a right to any allotment, the interment shall take place in some spot to be pointed out by the Trustees, and an additional charge of Ten Shillings for every such Interment shall be made.
- All Fees and Charges shall be paid to the Chairman of Trustees.
- Parties having purchased the exclusive right of burial in any Allotment may enclose the same with a neat paling, wire, or such other fence as the Trustees may approve, not exceeding 3 feet 6 inches in height, or they may erect monuments thereon subject to the approval of the Trustees; and the Trustees reserve to themselves the right of ordering the removal of anything which, in their judgment, is unseemly.

I, the undersigned WILLIAM PERKINS, hereby make application to Register "The Band of Hope Gold-mining Company," registered under the provisions of "The Mining Companies Limited Liability Act, 1865;" and I do solemnly and sincerely declare that the following statement is to the best of my belief and knowledge true in every particular, namely:β
- The name and style of the Company is "The Band of Hope Gold-mining Company, (Registered)."
- The place of operations is the left and middle branches of the Moonlight Creek, in the Province of Nelson, and Colony of New Zealand.
- The nominal capital of the Company is seven thousand pounds, in fourteen hundred shares, of five pounds each.
- The amount already paid up is two hundred pounds.
- The name of the Manager is WILLIAM PERKINS.
- The Office of the Company is at the office of the said William Perkins, in Werita-street, Greymouth.
- The names and several residences of the shareholders and the number of shares held by each at this date are as follows:β
