ALTERATION OF PILOTAGE.
Superintendent's Office,
Nelson, 20th September, 1869.
THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that, on and after the first day of October next, all STEAM VESSELS entering the Nelson Harbor more than once during any one year, commencing 1st January, will be charged, both INWARDS and OUTWARDS, the undermentioned REDUCED RATES of PILOTAGE each time of entrance and departure after the first, instead of the rates previously advertised:β
Steamers under 240 Tons ... One Pound
" 240 Tons and upwards ... One Penny per Ton.

ELECTION NOTICE.
ELECTORAL DISTRICT OF THE PROVINCE OF NELSON.
IN pursuance of the provisions of an act of the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled, "The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858," and of "The Provincial Elections Act, 1858," I THOMAS BRUNNER, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of the Province of Nelson, do hereby give notice, that, by virtue of a Writ bearing date the 22nd day of September, 1869, issued under the hand of his Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, an ELECTION will be held for the Return of a qualified person to serve as SUPERINTENDENT for the PROVINCE of NELSON; and that the NOMINATION of Candidates will take place at the Provincial Hall, in the City of Nelson, on THURSDAY, the 7th day of October, 1869, at Noon; and that the POLL (if necessary) will be taken on MONDAY, the 1st day of November.
