THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified that a Writ, issued for the Election of a Member of the Provincial Council for the City of Nelson, has been returned with a certificate to the effect that

NATHANIEL EDWARDS,

of the City of Nelson, Freeholder, has been duly elected.

IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND, NELSON DISTRICT.

In the matter of "The Bankruptcy Act, 1867," and "The Bankruptcy Act Amendment Act, 1868," and in the matter of WILLIAM AKERSTEN, of the City of Nelson, in the Province of Nelson, in the Colony of New Zealand, Ship's Chandler.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the said WILLIAM AKERSTEN was this day adjudged Bankrupt upon his own petition. And notice is hereby further given that the Order of Adjudication is absolute, and prescribes Monday, the 11th day of January, 1869, at Three of the clock in the afternoon, at the Court-house, Nelson, as the day, hour, and place for the first meeting of the Creditors of the said Bankrupt, and that the time prescribed by the said order within which the Bankrupt is required to surrender is Monday, the said Eleventh day of January, 1869, at the hour of One of the clock in the afternoon, at the said Court-house.

Dated this 4th day of January, 1869.
