Superintendent's Office,
Nelson, 30th November, 1868.

PETER JAMES M'KENNA is hereby
authorised, under the provisions of
Section XIII. of the Goldfields Act, 1866,
to construct a track from the Plains at the
North end of Giles' Terrace, through the
bush, across Deadman's Creek, and up the
North bank of the Creek, being a distance
altogether of about a mile and a quarter to
the present working in Deadman's Creek,
and to charge for a period of six months
from the 1st December, 1868, tolls accord-
ing to the Schedule on the following con-
ditions :—

  1. That the track shall be maintained at
    all times in a good state of repair.
  2. That any other person at any time on
    payment of a proportionate share of
    the construction of the track at a
    valuation may become a part pro-
    prietor in it.
  3. That this protection does not interfere
    with any ground held under any
    existing rights and privileges nor
    prejudice the right of the Govern-
    ment to cut any other track provided
    that no protection shall be granted
    for any other track to approach
    nearer than one chain to this one.
  4. That all Government officers, including
    road overseers and laborers and post-
    men when on duty shall use the track
    free of charge.
  5. That this protection shall not be trans-
    ferred without the sanction of the
    Warden of the District.
  6. That the Warden of the District shall,
    on being satisfied that the track is
    not in a good state of repair, or that
    any of the above conditions have been
    violated, have power to suspend the
    operation of this license until the
    matter of complaint be removed :—

In the matter of "The Bankruptcy Act,
1867," and "The Bankruptcy Act Amend-
ment Act, 1868," and in the matter of
RICHARD PERCIVAL, of the City of Nelson,
in the Province of Nelson, Plasterer.

NOTICE is hereby given, that the said
RICHARD PERCIVAL, was this day
adjudged Bankrupt upon his own petition:
And, notice is hereby further given, that
the order of adjudication is absolute, and
prescribes Monday, the 14th day of
December, 1868, at Three of the clock in the
afternoon, at the Court House, Nelson, as
the day, hour, and place, for the first meeting
of the Creditors of the said Bankrupt, and
that the time prescribed by the said order,
within which the Bankrupt is required to
surrender, is Monday, the 14th day of
December, 1868, at the hour of One of the
clock in the afternoon, at the said Court
House, Nelson.
