Superintendent's Office,
Nelson, June 11th, 1868.

LICENSES TO SHOOT PHEASANTS
within the Districts of RIWAKA,
MOTUEKA, PANGATOTARA, UPPER and LOWER
MOUTERE, during the month of July next,
will be issued at this Office on Payment of
the Fee of One Pound.

The following Clause of "The Protection
of Animals Act, 1867," is published for
general information :β€”

"18. No person shall take, kill, or pursue, or aid,
or assist in any manner in the taking, killing, or pur-
suing by any means whatsoever, or use any dog, gun,
net, or other engine for the purpose of taking, killing,
or pursuing any game until such person shall have
taken out a License to kill game under this Act, and
paid the duty hereby made payable thereon, and if
any person shall offend against the provisions of this
Section he shall be liable to a penalty not exceeding
twenty pounds, and in default of payment to be im-
prisoned for a period not exceeding four months."

In the matter of "The Bankruptcy Act,
1867," and in the matter of the petition
of PIERRE BOSSARD of Caledonian Terrace,
near Westport, in the Province of Nelson,
New Zealand, Publican, a Bankrupt.

NOTICE is hereby given that this
Honorable Court did this day appoint
a public sitting to take place on the 6th day
of June, instant, at the Court-House, West-
port, for the above-named Bankrupt to pass
his final examination, and make application
for his discharge.

GOTTLIEB CHARLES NEES, of Charleston,
in the Province of Nelson, and Colony of
New Zealand, Contractor, Bankrupt.

NOTICE is hereby given, that this
Honorable Court did, this day, adjudge the above-named HENRY GOTTLIEB
CHARLES NEES, Bankrupt, appoint a first
meeting of his creditors to be held, and
prescribe Tuesday, the 16th day of June,
instant, at eleven o'clock in the forenoon,
at the office of FRANCIS HARRIS, Esquire,
Clerk of this Court, at the Court-House, at
Westport, above-mentioned, as the day,
hour, and place, of the said meeting, and
which time and place the said Bankrupt is
required to surrender.

Publican, Bankrupt.

NOTICE is hereby given that this
Honorable Court did this day adjudge
the above-named JAMES GODFREY, Bank-
rupt, appoint a first meeting of his Creditors
to be held, and prescribe Tuesday, the 16th
day of June, instant, at 11 o'clock, and at
forenoon, at the office of FRANCIS HARRIS,
Esquire, Clerk of this Court, at the Court-
House, at Westport, above-mentioned as the
day, hour, and place, of the said meeting and
at which time and place the said Bankrupt
is required to surrender.

the Province of Nelson, in New Zealand,
Storekeeper, has this day filed in this Court
a declaration of his insolvency.
