✨ Nelson Trust Funds Accounts

for the use of the Steam Fund in connection with the account of the steamer "Nelson," the Trustees have now made the Steam Fund chargeable with the interest accruing on such amount of advance for the period during which it was so appropriated. A portion of the Reserve Fund was also so advanced; but as that Fund may be appropriated to such purposes as the Trustees may think desirable; and as, moreover, the advance was simply out of interest accruing on the outstanding loans, a charge of interest against the Steam Fund, as in the case of the advance from the Religious Reserve Fund, is quite unnecessary.

The Nelson Provincial Council Buildings (depicted) were constructed beginning with the laying of the foundation stone on 26 August 1859, with the first Council meeting held there on 30 April 1861.

The buildings served Nelson for over a century before being demolished on 12 September 1969.
