IN THE SUPREME COURT OF NEW ZEALAND, NELSON DISTRICT.

In the matter of the "Bankruptcy Act, 1867."

NOTICE is hereby given that THOMAS CORBETT, of the City of Nelson, in the Province of Nelson, in New Zealand, Draper and Clothier, did on FRIDAY, the 20th day of December, 1867, File at the Office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court of New Zealand at Nelson, pursuant to the 45th section of "The Bankruptcy Act, 1867," a declaration that he the said Thomas Corbett was unable to meet his engagements with his creditors.

Dated this twentieth day of December, 1867.

IN virtue of the power in me for this purpose vested by the 8th section of "The Bankruptcy Act, 1867," I do hereby order, that the Gazette, for the purposes of the said Act, within the District, constituted under "The Supreme Court Act, 1860," shall be The Provincial Government Gazette for the Province of Nelson. And that the Gazette for the purposes of "The Bankruptcy Act, 1867" within the Westland District, constituted under the "Supreme Court Act, 1860," shall be, the newspaper published at Hokitika, under the title of The West Coast Times.

The Nelson Provincial Council Buildings (depicted) were constructed beginning with the laying of the foundation stone on 26 August 1859, with the first Council meeting held there on 30 April 1861.

The buildings served Nelson for over a century before being demolished on 12 September 1969.
