THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it
to be notified that he has appointed
JOSEPH GILES, Esq., J.P.,
to be a Visiting Justice of the Public Gaols
at Westport, Charleston, Brighton, Cobden,
and Twelve-Mile Landing.

ELECTION OF GOVERNORS OF
NELSON COLLEGE.

WHEREAS Four Vacancies having
occurred in the Board of Governors
of Nelson College, it is hereby notified that
the Nomination of Candidates to fill the said
vacancies will take place at the Court House,
Nelson, on FRIDAY, the 20th day of
December, now next ensuing, at Noon.

In the event of a Poll being demanded,
the Polling will take place at the various
Polling places throughout the Province, on
FRIDAY, the 3rd day of January, now next
ensuing.

NOMINATION OF TRUSTEES UNDER
THE "NELSON TRUST FUNDS
ACT."

WHEREAS, by a Proclamation of his
Excellency Sir George Grey, K.C.B.,
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand and
its Dependencies, dated the 12th day of
February, 1864, under the hand of the
said Governor, and under the Seal of the
said Colony, made in execution of the
powers given to his Excellency under and
by virtue of the "Nelson Trust Funds Act,
1861," and the "Nelson Trust Funds Act,
1864," the Resident
Magistrate, at Nelson, was declared to be the
Returning Officer, at the Election for Trustees
and Auditors to serve under the aforesaid
Acts, and to whom all necessary powers
were given by the said Proclamation for
conducting all such Elections: Now, there-
fore, I, JOHN POYNTER, Esquire, Resident
Magistrate, do hereby give notice, that
THURSDAY, the 2nd day of January, 1868,
is appointed for the Nomination of Seven
Persons to serve as Trustees under the said
Acts, from the 1st day of January next, for
the then ensuing three years, such Nomina-
tion to take place at Noon, at the Court
House, in Nelson; and, in the event of a
Poll being demanded, I hereby appoint
TUESDAY, the 21st day of the said month
of January, for the Polling to take place.
The Polling to commence at Nine o'clock in
the forenoon of the said last-mentioned day,
at the several and respective places to be
hereafter advertised, and close at Four
o'clock in the afternoon of the said day, at
each of the said places.

ELECTION OF AUDITORS UNDER
THE "NELSON TRUST FUNDS
ACT."

WHEREAS, by a Proclamation of his
Excellency Sir George Grey, K.C.B.,
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand,
issued under the authority of "The Nelson
Trust Funds Act, 1854, Amendment Act,
1863," the Resident Magistrate, Nelson, was
declared to be the Returning Officer at the
Election of Trustees and Auditors, to serve
under the "Nelson Trust Funds Act, 1864."
Now, therefore, I, John Poynter, Esquire,
the said Resident Magistrate, do hereby give
notice, that I appoint WEDNESDAY, the
first day of January, 1868, at Noon, at the
Court House, Nelson, for the Nomination of
Two Persons to serve as Auditors for the
ensuing year, and in the event of a Poll being
demanded, a day for the Poll will be named,
and due notice of the same given.

Nelson, 28th November, 1867.

NOTICE is hereby given, that in accord-
ance with the provisions of "The Nelson
Waste Lands Act, 1863," a BLOCK OF LAND,
extending from the Brunner Coal Mine on the River
Grey to the mouth of Coal Creek, and of a width
varying from one to five chains, has been RESERVED
for the purposes of a road and railway.
