NOTICE TO MARINERS.

MASTERS OF VESSELS, holding CERTIFICATES OF EXEMPTION FROM PILOTAGE are hereby informed that, unless the regulations with respect to flying a WHITE FLAG at the mainmast head be strictly carried out, they will be liable to pay full pilotage.

APPLICATIONS FOR LEASES, under "The Crown Lands (Nelson) Leasing Act, 1865," received by the Commissioner of Crown Lands during the month of July, 1867:—

J. Ribet ... District of Stanley Brook. Being for Section No. 109 of Square 6.
Contents—137 acres.
Deposit—£4 11s. 4d.

Alex. Drummond ... District—The Wangapeka. Bounded on the Northward and westward by the River Wangapeka; eastward by Section 129 of Square 5, and southward by Crownland.
Contents—10 acres.
Deposit—£3 6s. 8d.

W. D. Hough ... District—The Baton.
Commencing at 300 yards above the upper forks of the River Skeet, upper line; bounded on the south side by Saddle Creek; and on the north side by Bethwaite's Creek; then down the river to first forks or the river; then down the south side of the river, from Sigley's Creek to the lower bend of the river, where it empties itself into the Baton; bounded on the south side by the spur running up from the Baton to opposite Sigley's Creek, and on the north side of the Skeet.
Contents—200 acres.
Deposit—£6 13s. 4d.

Being for Sections Nos. 90, 91, and 92, of Square 4; also, Sections Nos. 169 and 170 of Square 2.

APPLICATIONS FOR DEPASTURAGE LICENSES, in accordance with the regulations of "The Nelson Waste Lands Act, 1863," received by the Commissioner of Crown Lands during the month of July, 1867:—

T. Renwick ... District—The Upper Waiau.
Being for the unoccupied country immediately to the north of License No. 76, issued in favor of T. Brunner, and not included in H. Fanselow's application.
Estimated extent—Under 10,000 acres.
Deposit—£15.

M. O'Laughlin ... District—The Tutaki.
Being for that portion of the run hitherto in his occupation, and now remaining after the issue of a lease for 500 acres of the said run.
Estimated extent—Under 2000 acres.
Deposit—£5.

Thos. Carier ... District—The Clarence.
Bounded on the north, east, south, and west, by the country already held under license by him.
Estimated extent—10,000 acres.
Deposit—£15.

James Stuart ... District of Admiralty Bay.
Bounded on the north by Admiralty Bay; on the south, by Fitzroy Bay; on the west by Mr. Askew's run; and extending eastward, so as to include 1000 acres.
Deposit—£5.
