THE SUPERINTENDENT directs it to be notified for general information that
WILLIAM WILDMAN, of MOTUEKA,
has been authorised to Catch Pheasants for the Nelson Acclimatisation Society, for distribution in other parts of the Province.

WILLIAM COURTNEY, of Brighton, in the Province of Nelson, is hereby PROTECTED for a period of FIVE YEARS, from this date, in the occupation of an Area of WASTE LANDS OF THE CROWN, about two miles in length, and not exceeding ten feet in width, situate within the Nelson South West Gold Fields, immediately behind the Sea Beach, between a place known as St. Kilda and the Township of Brighton, for the purpose of constructing a TRAMWAY, under the Provisions of the Gold-Fields Act, 1866, on the following conditions, and authorised to charge such reasonable fares as shall be approved by the Superintendent:β

That the tramway be carried along the streets of Brighton in such a direction as may be pointed out by the Warden, and in such a manner that it shall not obstruct or impede ordinary traffic.

That if at any time any part of the ground over which the Tramway passes shall be required for the public convenience, the Tramway, or any part of it, shall be given up to the Government at a valuation

That this Protection for the ground shall only continue as long as the Tramway be kept in working order, and used for the conveyance of passengers, &c., and if it shall at any time be abandoned for a period of one month, this protection will be forfeited.

ALTERATION OF ROADS.
THE Undersigned hereby give notice that they intend to APPLY to two or more Justices of the Peace, at a sitting to be held on Tuesday, 16th July, 1867, at the Court House, Nelson, for an ORDER for STOPPING UP the undermentioned ROADS, and further, that they will cause survey plans of the several roads proposed to be stopped up, together with the books of reference and estimates, to be deposited with the CLERK to the MAGISTRATES at Nelson, and with Mr. Shallcrass, Inspector of Police, Nelson.
PROPOSED ALTERATION OF ROADS IN BROOK-STREET VALLEY, SUBURBAN SOUTH DISTRICT, NELSON.
To stop up a certain road in the Suburban South District, being the road leading from the new road, and passing through Sections numbered 4, 7, 8, and 10, and along the north-east boundary of Sections 11 and 18, all of Square 13, of the Province of Nelson, and which is shown by pink color on the plan attached to this application, and is 75 links in width, and about 122 1/2 chains in length.
