PROCLAMATION.

I, JOHN WALLIS BARNICOAT, Deputy
Superintendent of the Province of
Nelson, in exercise of the power and
authority vested in me in that behalf do
hereby proclaim and declare that the build-
ing now used as a Lockup, situated at the
Township of CHARLESTON, being within the
limits of the Nelson South-west Gold-fields,
shall be deemed and taken to be a PUBLIC
GAOL of the Colony of New Zealand.

Given under my hand and issued under
the Public Seal of the Province of
Nelson, this Twenty-seventh day of
March, One Thousand Eight Hun-
dred and Sixty-seven.

NOTICE is hereby given, that decisions
in favor of the undermentioned applicants for
Licenses to Depasture Stock have been given in
accordance with the "Nelson Waste Lands Act,
1863":—

Thos. Carter... ... Clarence 10,000 acres.
C. A. Muntz... ... Howard 3,000 "
A. Jacklin ... ... Buller 3,000 "
Count de la Pasture Hope 3,000 "

Boundaries not to be definitely settled until plans
of the runs applied for have been sent in.
