APPLICATIONS FOR DEPASTURAGE LICENSES, in accordance with the Regulations of the "Nelson Waste Lands Act, 1863," received by the Commissioner of Crown Lands during the months of January and February, 1867:—
GEORGE FAIRHALL, JOSEPH BAIGENT, THOMAS COLE—District, the Clarence.
Bounded on the west by Mr. Timms' Run. On the south by Mr. Muntz's run, and by Mr. Carter's application of the 14th October, 1864, and extending northward and eastward, so as to include a block of 20,000 acres.
Deposit paid—£30.
W. L. FOWLER—District, the Upper Waiau.
Bounded on the south by W. T. L. Travers' run, and taking all the available grass country in the valley of the Waiau, to the north of Mr. Travers' run.
Estimated extent, under 3000 acres.
Deposit paid—£5.

TO ALL TO WHOM THESE PRESENTS SHALL COME, GREETING:
WHEREAS, by an Act of the General Assembly, intituled "The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor by warrant under his hand, from time to time, to appoint polling places for each electoral district within or without the limits thereof, and to appoint any one of such places to be the principal polling place for the district, and all or any of such polling places at any time to abolish, and to appoint other polling places in lieu thereof. And whereas by another Act of the General Assembly, intituled "The Provincial Elections Act, 1858," it is enacted that, subject to certain provisions therein contained, every election of the Superintendent or of a Member of the Provincial Council of a Province shall be conducted in the manner prescribed by "The Regulation of Elections Act, 1858," aforesaid, and all the provisions of the said last-mentioned Act shall apply to the elections of Superintendent and Members of Provincial Councils:
Now therefore, I, Sir George Grey, the Governor of the said Colony, in pursuance of the power and authority in me vested by the said Acts, do hereby appoint the following places to be polling places for the Districts of Buller and Grey, for the election of Members of the Provincial Council of the Province of Nelson, namely:—
Buller District—Court House, Westport.
Grey District—Court House, Cobden;
Police Camp, Ahaura;
Court House, Brighton;
Court House, Charleston
And I do further appoint the following polling places to be the principal polling places of such districts respectively, viz.:—
Buller District—Court House, Westport;
Grey District—Court House, Cobden.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir George Grey, Knight Commander of the Most Honorable Order of the Bath, Governor, and Commander-in-Chief in and over Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand, and its Dependencies, and issued at Wellington, this fifth day of March, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty-seven.
