PROCLAMATION.

By his Honor ALFRED SAUNDERS, Esquire,
Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand,
&c., &c.

WHEREAS by an Act passed by
the General Assembly of New Zealand, intituled "The Gold-fields Acts Amendment Act, 1865," it is enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor, at any time subsequent to the proclamation of a Gold-field to reserve or withdraw therefrom any lands which he may deem necessary, and such lands shall thenceforth be dealt with under the Waste Lands Regulations of the Province, in which such Gold-field is situate :

And whereas by an instrument under the hand of His Excellency the Governor and the Seal of the Colony, bearing date the Eighteenth day of November, 1865, the above-mentioned powers were delegated to me as Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, to have, hold, and exercise within the said Province.

Now therefore, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, do hereby withdraw from the Nelson south-west Gold-fields, and from the operation of the Gold-fields Acts—

All that piece or parcel of land in the Province of Nelson, in the Colony of New Zealand, containing by admeasurement one thousand four hundred and one acres, be the same more or less, being Sections numbered 1 and 2, on Square numbered 119, on the plan of the Province of Nelson; bounded as follows—by a line bearing 90° 15" magnetic from a peg marked A, on the bank of the River Grey, 3,350 links; thence by a line bearing 180° 15" magnetic, to a peg marked A, 2,900 links; thence by a line bearing 143° 0" magnetic, 8,650 links; thence by a line bearing 233° 0" magnetic, 10,400 links; thence by a line bearing 143° 0" magnetic, 18,000 links, to a peg marked F, on the banks of the River Grey; and thence by the banks of the River Grey, to the peg marked A from which the boundary commenced.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province, of Nelson, this Twenty-fourth day of January, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified, for general information, that he has appointed

to be Clerk to the Warden's Court of the Nelson South-west Gold-fields.

APPLICATION FOR DEPASTURAGE LICENSES in accordance with the Regulations of the Nelson Waste Lands Act, 1863, received by the Commissioner of Crown Lands during the month of November, 1865.

THOMAS CARTER—District, the Alma.
Over any or all of the country that may be found, not held under license, lying between the southern boundary of Messrs. Saxtons' runs, the northern boundary of the run originally granted to Dr. Robertson, and the eastern boundary of the V.-Mile Square Reserve at the head of the Alma River.

Estimated extent, 20,000 acres.
Deposit paid, £30.

G. W. SCHRODER—District, Upper Wairau.
Being for the 300 acres known as the Dog Flat, and situated opposite St. Ronan's Well, bounded on the west by the River Wairau, and on the north, east, and south by the extreme limit of available country.

Deposit paid, £5.
