PROCLAMATION.

I, ALFRED SAUNDERS, Superintendent of Nelson, in exercise of the power and authority vested in me in that behalf do hereby proclaim and declare that the two buildings now used as Lockups, situated at the TOWNSHIPS of WESTPORT and BRIGHTON respectively, being within the limits of the Nelson South-west Goldfields, shall be deemed and taken to be two of the PUBLIC GAOLS of the Colony of New Zealand.

Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province of Nelson, this Thirty-first day of December, One thousand eight hundred and sixty-six.

WILLIAM PRICE,
Poundkeeper of the Public Pound at Riwaka, in the place of Alexander Drummond, resigned.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.

HIS Honor the Superintendent directs it to be notified, that a Red Buoy surmounted by a White Beacon, has been placed at the extreme end of Waimea Sands in 3½ fathoms low water, with the following compass bearings :

Lighthouse, East by North Easterly.
Bell Buoy, South East by South ⅓ South.
And that the following alteration has been
