RULES for Interment in the CLIFTON PUBLIC CEMETERY, Golden Bay:
1st. That the exclusive right of burial, in any plot of ground in the Clifton Cemetery, be purchasable at the rate of Five shillings per square yard, payable at the time of the selection of the site, failing which the same to remain open to selection.
2nd. That no burial plot shall be less than nine feet in depth, nor contain less than four square yards, viz., nine feet by four, and every additional foot of frontage to be charged three shillings and sixpence.
3rd. Persons desirous of purchasing four square yards of ground for the term of seven years, may do so on the payment of Ten shillings.
4th. Applicants for burial plots, either exclusively or for the term of seven years, can select any spot in any section, on application to the Secretary or any authorised person, who is hereby empowered to mark off the same, on payment of the sum fixed by the regulations.
5th. Persons not desirous of purchasing the right of burial for any given period of time, may cause interments to take place by paying to the Trustees the sum of Five shillings for each such interment, in addition to the usual burial fees.
6th. Each plot of ground is to be staked off at the four corners, with durable stakes, to project at least one foot above the surface of the ground.
7th. The holders of any plot of burial ground shall observe such rules, with regard to the inclosing, fencing, and decent maintenance of the same, as shall from time to time be laid down by the Trustees.
8th. The top of any coffin, deposited in any part of the Cemetery, shall not be less than five feet below the natural level of the soil.

NOTICE is hereby given that in accordance with the Nelson Waste Lands Act, 1863, the undermentioned Crown lands have been reserved for public purposes, viz.:—
A reserve for the use of an Accommodation House, the boundaries of which are as follow:—
A straight line drawn from a point on boundary of the Provinces of Nelson and Marlborough, and in a direction north, 45° west true bearing, through a cliff known as the Castle Spur, situated near the summit of the first range of hills on the north-west side of the Wairau-valley, and across the said range to the bottom of the valley on its north-west side, being the valley of the most easterly tributary of the Motueka; thence following the said tributary to its source, and by the lowest pass at the head of the valley into the valley of the next main tributary of the Motueka; thence down the said last named tributary to its junction with the said first named tributary; thence in a straight line to site of the old Top House; thence along the said boundary of the Provinces of Nelson and Marlborough to the point first named; comprising an estimated extent of about 20,000 acres.
Two reserves in the Big Bush for the accommodation of travelling cattle, &c.,
The first including the whole of the open land surrounding the Government Store Hut near the Black-valley, onthe main road to the Buller-valley, being a rectangular section lying at an angle of 45° to the meridian, and containing 65 acres.
The second being all the land included between the Main Southern Road and the River Motupiko, and extending from a point ten chains above the junction of the Buller Valley Road, to a point ten chains below the Halfway Stream bridge.
A reserve for the purposes of the Nelson Waterworks.
