WE, JOHN POYNTER and JAMES CROWE RICHMOND, Commissioners duly appointed to hear and decide CLAIMS TO LAND by persons claiming title thereto, from, through, or under the New Zealand Company, Do hereby decide that the persons whose names are hereunder written, and whose claims have been referred to us by his Honor the Superintendent, are duly entitled to the Crown Grants for Land, the particulars whereof are set opposite their respective names.

The Nelson Provincial Council Buildings (depicted) were constructed beginning with the laying of the foundation stone on 26 August 1859, with the first Council meeting held there on 30 April 1861.

The buildings served Nelson for over a century before being demolished on 12 September 1969.
