APPLICATION for DEPASTURAGE LICENCES, in accordance with the Regulations under the Waste Lands Act of 1863, received by the Commissioner of Crown Lands during the month of November, 1864.

For all the pastoral land in the valley of the Howard and on a tributary of that stream on the east side of it, and for all pastoral land in excess of eight thousand acres within the following boundaries: on the eastward, by the line of the Big Bush; on the northward, by a line of wooded hills forming a northern continuation of the Big Bush; on the southward, by a line of wooded mountains stretching from the River Howard to the Lake Rotuiti, and from thence to the Big Bush, and on the westward, by a line drawn across the River Buller at the Devil's Grip. The quantity of land applied for is estimated as under ten thousand acres, and the whole block including the eight thousand acres now held by Mr. John Kerr, as assignee or representative of the Nelson Sheep Association, is approximately shown by a dotted line on the plan accompanying this application.

F. B. HADFIELD—District of Awaroa.
Bounded on the northward, partly by the sold land in Awaroa, and partly by high-water mark in the said bay; on the eastward, by the high-water mark of the coast line of Tasman's Bay, from Abel Head to the mouth of the River Marahau in Sandy Bay; southward, partly by sections 1, 117, 118 and 119, Marahau and partly by high water mark, Sandy Bay; and on the westward by a straight line from the western angle of section 119 Marahau to the western angle of section 7, Awaroa.
Estimated extent under 20,000 acres.

Being a tract of land bounded on the east by the western boundary of my run in the Upper Wairau; on the south, by the River Henry from a point where it is intersected or joined by the above western boundary for two miles on its course, and on the north by the base of the range of hills bounding the valley of the Henry on that side.
Estimated extent 900 acres.
