Provincial Secretary\'s Office, Nelson,
August 26, 1864.

TENDERS will be Received at
this Office, until Four o\'clock, p.m., on
MONDAY, the 31st of OCTOBER next, for
REGULAR STEAM SERVICE between
the undermentioned places, for a period of
ONE YEAR:β€”

  1. NELSON and COLLINGWOOD,
    calling at Motueka and Motupipi (or
    Waitapu).
  2. NELSON and the WEST COAST,
    calling at Motueka, Motupipi, (or Wai-
    tapu), and Collingwood.
  3. NELSON and the BULLER direct.
  4. NELSON and MARLBOROUGH,
    calling at Havelock, Picton, and Blen-
    heim.

United Kingdom of Great Britain and
Ireland, Queen, Defender of the Faith.

To THOMAS CAWTHRON, of the Haven-
road, in the City of Nelson, in the Pro-
vince of Nelson, and Colony of New
Zealand, Shipping Agent: Greeting:

WHEREAS an action is now
pending in our Supreme Court of New
Zealand, Middle District, between MORRIS
LYON MARKS, of Bridge-street, in the City
of Nelson, in the Province of Nelson, and
Colony of New Zealand, merchant, plaintiff,
and GILBERT PRESTON, of the Wakamarina,
in the Province of Marlborough, in the
Colony of New Zealand, storekeeper, defen-
dant; and, in order that the said plaintiff
may proceed in the said action, we command
you that you do RETAIN and KEEP all
and singular LANDS and other PRO-
PERTY, Hereditaments, Moneys, Chattels,
Bills, Bonds, and other property of what-
soever nature, in your CUSTODY, or
under your control, at the time of the service
of this Writ, belonging to the said GILBERT
PRESTON, or to or in which such defendant
shall, at the time, be legally or equitably en-
titled or otherwise beneficially interested, and
whether solely or jointly with any person or
persons, and all Debts due of every kind,
then due by you to such defendant, although
the same, or part thereof, may be payable
only at a future day. And we further com-
mand you that you, in your own proper per-
son, be and appear before such Judge of our
said Court as shall be sitting at Chambers at
Nelson aforesaid, on the 14th day of Novem-
ber now next, at Eleven of the o\'clock in the
forenoon, then and there to be examined
touching the premises, and to do and receive
what shall then and there be considered of
you in that behalf and this you shall in no
wise omit.

[L.S.] Supreme Court, at Nelson, this
Twenty-seventh day of August,
in the year of our Lord One
thousand eight hundred and sixty
four.

This Writ was issued out by ALBERT PITT,
of Trafalgar-street, in the City of Nelson, in
the Province of Nelson, in the Colony of New
Zealand, Solicitor, for the within-named
plaintiff.

If you part with any of the defendant\'s
property, or pay him any debts due to him,
you will become personally responsible to the
plaintiff.

MOORING, WESTERN PORT.

THE accompanying Notice respec-
ting a Mooring which has been laid
down at Western Port is published for the
information of Navigators and others.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.

WESTERN PORT.

Masters of vessels frequenting Western
Port are hereby informed that a mooring
buoy, colored red, and secured by 20 fathoms
of 1 1/2-inch chain and a 17-cwt. anchor, has
been laid down in 7 fathoms water in the
narrows between Davis and Moody Point,
far the use of vessels loading there.
