River Motueka below the junction of the
Orinoco Stream with that river.

  1. To commence at the main line of road
    between Nelson and Motueka, at the
    south-west corner of section No. 165,
    and proceeding thence through
    190, and along the southern boundaries
    of sections 210 and 220 and partly along
    that of 241, then through 241 and a
    portion of 250; then between 250 and
    251 to the banks of the Motueka River.

Then along the east or right hand
bank of the Motueka River the line of
road last described, where it strikes the
Motueka River just below the Orinoco
Stream, passing through sections 52 and
58, to avoid the bend of the River.

  1. The road leading to Motueka Jetty
    commencing at the main line of road
    between Nelson and Motueka, at the
    south-east corner of section 165, square
    3, and proceeding thence between sec-
    tion 147 on one side and 149 and 143
    on the other, to the sea beach, and thence
    to the Jetty.

COLLINGWOOD.

To commence at the Court House, Col-
lingwood, proceeding thence along the
road now in use by way of Appoo's Flat
to Golden Gully.

Given under my hand, and issued under
the Public Seal of the Province, at Nel-
son, this Twenty-second day of August,
in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and sixty-four.

Nelson.

Sir,-The General Government of the
Colony having determined the period when
in its opinion it will no longer be necessary
for the Taranaki Refugees to remain at Nel-
son, it has become our pleasant duty, for the
Provincial Council and myself, to express
our thanks to your Government, and the in-
habitants of Nelson for the hospitality and
great kindness shown to the Taranaki Refu-
gees; I enclose a copy of a Resolution passed
by the Provincial Council, concurring with me,
and I assure you in conclusion that the fami-
lies who have been at Nelson as Refugees,
will ever entertain kindly and grateful feel-
ings for the kindness and health extended
to them by their entertainers at Nelson.

Extract from Minutes of Council.

New Plymouth, July 19, 1864.

[RESOLVED.]

"That nearly the whole of the Refugees
having now returned, this Council desires to
join with his Honor the Superintendent in
expressing the thanks of the Provincial Go-
vernment of Taranaki to the Government and
inhabitants of the Province of Nelson, for the
hospitality and great kindness shown by them
to the Refugees from this Province."
