the Provisions of the Waste Land Regulation
of the 15th February, 1860:β

WHEREAS A LICENSE was
granted on the 16th day of November,
1859, to CHRISTOPHER EDWARD DAMPIER,
of Lyttelton, to Depasture Stock on three
thousand seven hundred acres of Crown land,
upon and near the Hurunui River, and
adjoining the run now in occupation of Wil-
liam M'Rae; and, whereas, the RENT DUE
under the said license is in ARREAR for
three months: Now, therefore, I give notice,
that the said LICENSE IS FORFEITED;
and that the run to which the same refers
will be LET, under license, for FOUR-
TEEN YEARS, at the usual rent, and sub-
ject to the usual conditions, by public AUC-
TION, to the highest bidder, on SATURDAY,
the 9th day of May next.

Section No. 12 of Square No. 12 on the plan
of the Province of Nelson (Wainui), is with-
drawn from sale.

STOPPING UP OF ROADS, AND SUBSTI-
TUTION OF A NEW ROAD.
NOTICE is hereby given that
APPLICATION is intended to be
made by the undersigned to two or more
Justices of the Peace, having jurisdiction
within the Province of Nelson, at a sitting
to be held on SATURDAY, the 2nd of May,
1862, at the Institute, Motueka, for an
ORDER for STOPPING UP THE under-
mentioned ROADS, and SUBSTITUTING
a NEW ROAD in lieu thereof: And notice
is hereby further given that the undersigned
will cause survey plans of the roads proposed
to be stopped up, and that substituted,
together with books of reference, to be
deposited with the senior Magistrate, Motu-
eka; Mr. J. BOYES, District Constable of
Motueka; Mr. J. FOWLER, District Pound-
keeper of Riwaka; and at the Offices of H.
B. HUDDLESTON, C.E., Trafalgar-street, Nel-
son, on or before the 28th day of March,
1863:β
To stop up a certain road in the Riwaka
valley, commencing on the west side of
a cross road, running north and south
from the river to the hills, being that
portion of road which divides Sections
81, 82, and 83, from Sections 84, 85,
86, and 87, terminating at Section 1 of
Block 1.
Also, to stop up a certain other road in
Riwaka valley, commencing on the west
side of the cross road before named,
being that portion of road which divides
the other side of Sections 84, 85, and 86
from Sections 88, 89, and 90, terminating
at Section 1 of Block 1 before named.
Also, to stop up a certain other road,
intersected by the before named roads,
and running north and south from the
river to the hills, dividing sections 81
and 87 from Sections 59 and 76.
And to substitute in lieu thereof a new and
more convenient road, commencing a
short distance to the westward of Sec-
tion 61, on the public road, and running
in a south-westerly direction until it
reaches the boundary line or division
between the properties of CHARLES
THYNNE THOMAS and BERNARD M'MA-
HON, on Section 60, which point is 1,225
links, in a straight line, from the south
boundary of the section, being now a
private road of the width of fifty links,
as shewn on the plan; from thence con-
tinuing in a northerly direction linable
with the sections, and one chain in width
to the Riwaka river, and which proposed
new road is to be taken out of the land
of the said CHARLES THYNNE THOMAS,
free of purchase, being duly declared a
public road of the Riwaka district.
