APPLICATIONS for DEPASTURAGE LICENSES, in accordance with the Regulations under the Waste Lands, Act 1858, received by the Commissioner of Crown Lands during the Month of October, 1863.

J. HARLEY—District, the Mangles.
Situated at the sources of the Rivers Tirumea and Tutaki, being the grass flats and terraces at the foot of the Spencer Range. Estimated extent, under 6,000 acres.
Deposit paid, £10.

MANSFIELD and ELLIOTT—District, the Mataki-taki.
Being a tract of land on the main easterly branch of the River Mataki-taki, extending up the said branch for the distance of ten miles from a point half a mile beyond the junction thereof with the main westerly branch, and for a width of about two miles on each side of the said easterly branch; bounded on all sides by forest.
Estimated extent, under 30,000 acres.
Deposit paid, £50.

REUBEN WAITT—District of Westport.
Bounded by the sea and Cape Foulwind on the south and west, and parallel to the range of mountains at the back; and on the east by the land applied for by Mr. James Thomson, and parallel with the ranges at the back.
Extent, 3,000 acres.
Deposit paid, £5.

SMITH and INGLE—District, the Tirumea.
Being for all that portion of grass country situated about four miles from the head of the Tirumea Plain, on both sides of the left-hand branch of the Tutaki River.
Bounded on the west, by wooded ranges, forming the dividing range between the right-hand branch and the left of the River Tutaki; on the east, by the wooded range forming the dividing range between the River Tirumea, and the left-hand branch of the Tutaki : on the north, by timber country forming the boundary of the Tirumea Plain; on the south by timber country, forming the boundary of McGregor's application.
Estimated extent, 3,000 acres.

A. WEYERGANG—District, the Grey.
Being all the open land between the Rivers Kaupiri and Tutaki-kuri.
Estimated extent, under 6,000 acres.
Deposit paid, £10.

W. WHITE—District, the Upper Wairau.
Situated between the west end of the Government Reserve at Tarndale (the reserve at the Upper Wairau River and Lake Tennyson,) including the valley known as the Island or Highland Hill Valley.
Estimated extent, 6,000 acres.
