HIS Excellency the Governor has
been pleased to appoint the following
persons to be Registrars under the "Marriage
Act, 1854," and the "Marriage Act Amend-
ment Act, 1858," for the Districts set oppo-
site their respective names, as those Districts
are severally described in a Proclamation,
bearing date the fifth day of April, 1862.

District of Kaihoras—CHARLES RUCK
KEENE.

District of Amuri—GEORGE LESLIE LEE.

These appointments are to take effect on
the second day of June next.

I, THE undersigned JOHN CHAM-
BERLAIN of Motueka, in the Province
of Nelson, Chairman of the Road Board, of
the Motueka District, hereby give notice that
I intend to APPLY to two or more Justices
of the Peace, having jurisdiction in the said
Province, at a meeting to be held on
SATURDAY, the 7th day of June now
next, at the Institute, Motueka, for an
ORDER for STOPPING UP the undermen-
tioned ROAD, and to substitute a certain
other road in the place thereof. And I fur-
ther give notice that I have caused survey
plans of the respective Road proposed to be
stopped up, and the respective Road to be
substituted for the same, together with the
Book of Reference containing the names of
the owners, lessees, and occupiers of the
lands through which the intended New
Road is to pass, to be deposited with the
Clerk to the Magistrates and with Mr. John
Boyes, Constable, Motueka.

To stop up a certain Road from the cross-
road between Section 217 and 218, Mo-
tueka, proceeding due north and divi-
ding Sections numbered 217 from 213,
and Sections 215 from Sections num-
bered respectively 215 and 216, and ter-
minating at the bank of the Motueka
river.

And to substitute in the place thereof a
certain other road in the said district 75
links in width, commencing from the
said before mentioned Cross-road, and
running on the western boundary of
Section numbered 216 and 217, thence
running due west into Section numbered
245, for 10 chains and 32 links, and
thence due north through Section 215
for 10 chains and 50 links in width, and
terminating at the bank of the Motueka
river.

The roads are more particularly delineated
in the plan attached to the notice.
