IX., No. 7, intituled "An Act to make provision for the abatement of the Dog Nuisance," it is enacted that the said Act shall come into operation within certain districts, and in such other districts as shall be proclaimed by the Superintendent in the Government Gazette for the Province, upon the request of a majority of the resident electors in such districts:
Now therefore, I, the said Superintendent, at the request of a majority of the resident electors of the Town of Collingwood, Golden Bay, do hereby proclaim and declare that the said Act shall come into operation in the said Town of Collingwood on and after the first day of January next.
Given under my hand, and issued under the Public Seal of the Province, at Nelson, this Twenty-fourth day of October, in the year of our Lord One thousand eight hundred and sixty-two.

PROCLAMATION.
By his Honor JOHN PERRY ROBINSON, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Nelson, in the Islands of New Zealand, &c., &c., &c.
WHEREAS, by an Act passed by the Superintendent and Provincial Council of the Province of Nelson in Session III., No. 4, intituled the "Country Roads Act, 1856," it is amongst other things enacted that it should be lawful for the Superintendent from time to time to constitute and appoint certain Districts in which the said Act should come into operation:
Now therefore, I, the Superintendent of the Province of Nelson do hereby proclaim constitute and appoint the following Districts in which the said in part recited Act shall come into operation, that is to say:—
Tahaka District.
Tahaka District—The north-east boundary commences at the mouth of the River Pariwhakaho, in section numbered 79, on square numbered 13 of the plan of the said Province; thence along the water-mark to Carlisle-street in the Village of Clifton; thence by the spur between the Village of Clifton and Pohara Bay to the summit of the watershed between Golden Bay and Awaroa, near Mount Evans; thence in a south-easterly direction along the same range to Mount Arthur; thence in a
south-westerly direction along the same watershed to Mount Snowden; thence in a north-westerly direction along the same watershed to the Slate River Peak; thence in a straight line from Slate River Peak to the source of the River Pariwhakaho; thence down that River to its mouth, being the same point from which the north-east boundary commences.
Collingwood District.
Collingwood District—Bounded on the north-eastward by the low water line of Golden Bay from Farewell Sand Spit to the mouth of the River Pariwhakaho; thence on the south-eastward by the Takaka District to the summit of Mount Snowden; thence in a south-westerly direction along the watershed from Mount Snowden to Mount Domett; and thence in a straight line to Kahurangi Point on the West Coast; and thence on the westward by the low water-mark on the West Coast from Kahurangi Point to Farewell Sand Spit, being the same point from which the north-east boundary commences.
