NOTICE is hereby given, that
the undermentioned ALLOTMENTS
of LAND will be put up to AUCTION, at
the Crown Land Office, Nelson, on SATUR-
DAY, the 1st of June, 1861, at Twelve
o'clock, noon.

Ten per cent. of the purchase money to
be deposited at the Sale, and the remainder
to be paid within one month, or the deposit
forfeited.

All the above Allotments are subject to a
reservation for right of roads, the deductions
for which have been made in the price, as
provided in the 44th clause of the Land
Regulations.

APPLICATIONS for DEPASTUR-
AGE LICENSES, in accordance with
the Regulations under the Waste Lands
Act, 1858, received by the Commissioner
of Crown Lands during the Months of
JANUARY and February, 1861.

J. HACKWORTH—District, Upper Motueka
and Wai Iti.

Boundaries—On the west by the
most westerly branch of the
river Motueka, from its source
as far as Mr. Bell's boundary;
on the north, by Mr. Bell's
southern boundary; on the east
partly by the Wai Iti River to
source and a line running north
and south, including the grassy
country to the south of its source;
on the south by a line connect-
ing the above mentioned eastern
and western boundaries, so as to
include the required acreage of
20,000 acres.

Deposit paid, £30.

WM. MCGOWAN—District, The Grey.

Boundaries—On the northward and
southward by bush; on the east-
ward by mountain ranges; and
on the westward by the banks of
the Inangahua, being the grass
flat on the banks of the Awarua,
and tributary of the Inangahua.
Extent, under 20,000 acres.

Deposit paid, £30.

II. D. WILLIAMS—District, the Amuri.

Boundaries—On the north by the
Kaikora range; on the west by
the Kaikora range and Sherwood
forest; on the south by Messrs.
Keene's back line, and on the
east by the River Conway.
Extent, under 3,000 acres.

Deposit paid, £5.

ENQUIRIES having been made
respecting the person named below,
any one who can get any information con-
cerning such a person is requested to com-
municate the same to this office.

Christian and Surname—Daniel Doherty.

Supposed residence before going to the
Colony—New Brunswick.

Left St. John's New Brunswick, about 20
years ago, with his family for New Zealand,
and is reported to have been engaged in bay
whaling since his arrival in the Colony.
