NOTICE TO MARINERS.

PENCARROW LIGHTHOUSE.
Provincial Secretary's Office,
Wellington, 26th January, 1859.

Notice is hereby given that on and after the First day of September next, the Light exhibited since the first day of January last, on Pencarrow Head, at the entrance of Port Nicholson (Wellington), Cook's Strait, New Zealand, will be a fixed light, and not subject to eclipses at intervals of two minutes, as described in the following notice, bearing date the 7th December, 1858.

NOTICE TO MARINERS.

PENCARROW LIGHTHOUSE.

Wellington, 7th December, 1858.

Notice is hereby given, that on and after the First of January next, a new light will be exhibited on Pencarrow Head at the entrance of Port Nicholson (Wellington), Cook's Strait, New Zealand.

The New Light will be of the second order (Catadioptric system), with eclipses at intervals of two minutes; it will be 420 feet above high water mark, and visible in ordinary weather at a distance of thirty English miles.

The following are the magnetic bearings and distances of the site of the lighthouse.

From Baring Head, N.W. by N., 3 1/4 miles.
From Sinclair Head, E. by N. 1/2 N., 6 1/2 miles.
From Outer Rock of Barrett's Reef, S.E. by E. 1/2 E., 1 mile.
From Steeple Rock, S.S.E., 2 miles.
From Cape Campbell, N.N.E. 1/4 E., 33 miles.

The lighthouse is in latitude 41deg. 22min. 0sec. S., longitude 174deg. 51min. 15sec., E.

ELECTORAL LISTS FOR 1859-60.

NOTICE is hereby given, that, in accordance with the provisions of the "Registration of Electors Act, 1858," LISTS OF PERSONS QUALIFIED TO VOTE AS ELECTORS for the House of Representatives, Superintendent, and Provincial Council, have been prepared by me for the following Electoral Districts, viz :β€”

Town of Nelson
Suburban North
Suburban South
Waimea East
Waimea West, and
Waimea South;

and the same can be inspected by any person during the first fourteen days of the month of March, at the Constables' houses in the said districts; at the School-house, Stoke; at the Court House, Nelson; where copies of the same are posted, and at my office.

Any person duly qualified, not included therein, can prefer his claim by lodging the same with me, in the form prescribed by the Act, and in no other, during the month of March.

Any person desirous of having his name removed from the above list, or any or either of his qualifications struck out, can have the same done by giving notice in writing in the form prescribed by the Act.

I HEREBY give notice that, in accordance with the provisions of the Registration of Electors Act, 1858, I have prepared LISTS OF PERSONS QUALIFIED TO VOTE AS ELECTORS for the House of Representatives, Superintendent, and Provincial Council, for the MOTUEKA AND MASSACRE BAY DISTRICTS, and that the same can be INSPECTED at the Store of Mr. WILLIAM GIBLIN, Motueka; at the Court House, Collingwood; and at my residence, Riwaka, by any one, until the 15th day of March.

Any duly qualified person not included in the said lists can prefer his claim by lodging the same with me during the month of March; such claim to be made out strictly in accordance with the form prescribed by the Act.

Printed forms for the above purpose, price 3d. each, can be had at the Stores of Messrs. GIBLIN and SUTCLIFFE, Motueka; at the Court House, Collingwood; or at my residence.

Any one wishing to have his name erased from the above lists, or any of his qualifications struck out, must give notice to that effect to me, in writing, according to the form prescribed by the Act; such notice to
