zette.

ENQUIRIES having been made through
the Agent-General for Crown Colonies,
respecting a person named WILLIAM HEWITT,
of whom certain particulars are given below,
any one who can give any information of such
a person is requested to communicate with this
office.

HENRY JOHN TANCRED,
For the Colonial Secretary.


Real Christian and Surname—William
Hewitt.
If Colonist went by any other name, state
the same—Not.
Trade or Occupation—Mariner and Whaler.
Usual Residence before going to the Colony
—5, Old King Street, Deptford, Kent.
Usual Colonial Residence—Auckland, Ply-
mouth, New Zealand.
Age, and if married or single—58, married,
wife in England.
Name of Ship in which Colonist went to the
Colony, and at what date—"St. Michael,"
July 13th, 1852.
State if Colonist went out as an Emigrant
or Convict—Boatswain of Ship.
When last heard of, and at what Place—
1857; Auckland.
If dead, state place, and date of death—Not
known.
If Colonist left a Will, state the same—Not
known.
Nature of information required—To know
if dead, nature of property, and disposition of
the same.


ERRATUM.

In the Gazette, No. 17, of the 9th Septem-
ber, 1859, the name of "John Griffith" to be
substituted for "Edward Baigent," as repre-
sentative at the Central Board of Education
for Wakefield.
